GRBCC, Room 325D
Tuesday, June 27, 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
Keynote Presentation “Importance of faculty mentoring on professional development: perspectives from the administrator” by Jeff Konin, PhD, ATC, PT
The mission of the NATA Foundation Research/Faculty mentor program is to provide guidance and mentorship to junior faculty members (pre-tenured; less than 6 years of experience as a faculty member) involved in higher education within the athletic training profession.

The NATA Foundation Research/Faculty Mentor Program pairs junior faculty members with established faculty who will provide guidance, advice and assistance in navigating the first several years of employment within higher education. The goal is to form a lasting relationship to help the mentee build a solid knowledge base and acquire an understanding of the balance necessary to becoming a successful researcher and educator. Direction of the relationship and areas of focus will be built upon the mutual interests and goals of the pairings.

Information on the program is on our website. Applications to participate in the 2017-2018 program are due May 1, 2017 at noon and will be available beginning March 1, 2017.

NATA Foundation Distinguished Scholar Lecture Exchange

GRBCC, Room 360

This session has two components. The first consists of presentations by our exchange lecturers who represent:

  • The American College of Sports Medicine
  • The American Medical Society of Sports Medicine and

The second portion of the session includes the recognition of our 20176 research award recipients, including the winners of the 2017 Doctoral Dissertation Award Presented in Honor of David Perrin, PhD, ATC, the 2016 New Investigator Award recipient, and the 2017 Medal for Distinguished Athletic Training Research award recipient.
