Free Communication Program
One of the top attractions for the NATA Clinical Symposia & AT Expo is the Free Communications program (more casually known as Free Comm), a program sponsored by the NATA Research & Education Foundation that gives athletic trainers a forum for distributing new research and clinical case studies. To date, the program has provided almost 5,000 poster and oral presentations.
This year in Houston, convention attendees can look forward to more than 500 oral, poster, thematic or rapid-fire presentations. Research is presented in oral and poster formats and includes general research, NATA Foundation funded research, thematic posters, clinical case reports and our Student Exchange program posters. Abstracts for 2017 Free Comm presentations will be posted in March 2017.
Distinguished Scholar Presentations
Exchange lecturers from other sports medicine associations will speak about their research. The NATA Foundation’s Medal for Distinguished Athletic Training Research, New Investigator Award and Doctoral Dissertation Award and Free Communications Student Award winners will also be formally recognized at this two-hour session.
